Meatballs Moroccan Style

Here's what you need:

1 pound ground beef
1/3 cup currants
½ cup pine nuts, toasted
1 cup bread crumbs
½ cup half and half
1 small onion, finely chopped

½ tsp. ground cinnamon
1 pinch ground cloves
1 large egg, beaten
1 ½ tsp. Salt
vegetable oil


Here's how to make it:

Soak breadcrumbs in half and half about 5 minutes. In a bowl thoroughly mix beef, onion, cinnamon, cloves, egg, salt, currants and toasted pione nuts. Then mix in soaked breadcrumbs.

With wet hands, shape mixture into meatballs.

Heat 2 Tbsp. oil in a large skillet. Add as man meatballs as will fit without crowding. Cook, turning as needed, until well browned on all sides and cooked through.
